Katya Dyachenko is a leading adviser to governments and private investors on navigating and expanding in emerging growth markets. She has two decades of experience working in 100 markets across former Soviet Union countries, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, Katya has an extensive and successful track record in strategy consulting and policy advisory across sectors including public utilities, urban development, industry and trade, e-commerce, innovation, and research.
Katya is a Founder of B2B-Export.com – B2B e-commerce platform connecting Russia to the emerging markets of Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and a co-founder of an Independent Power Generation company – AquaPower providing much-needed electricity to the African industrial companies. Previously, Katya served as a Consultant to IFC on the matters of Supply chain development, Economic inclusion, and lending infrastructure development and she served as Consultant and Engagement manager in Moscow and Johannesburg offices of McKinsey&Co assisting multiple public and private sector clients in operational transformation, strategy, and organizational transformation work.
Katya also served as Chief Energy Efficiency and R&D officer in the largest private power utility company, optimizing power and central district heating networks and designing R&D programs, physical infrastructure for the Innovation City Skolkovo, where she also ran USD30mln. seed Venture fund for CleanTech startups.
She has published a book on International trade “Business without borders” and has also written widely on international trade, African affairs, and other emerging markets for publications and platforms including Forbes, Vedomosti, and RBC among others.
Katya holds an Engineering Degree and a Master's Degree in Applied mathematics from Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (Technical University). She completed the McKinsey corporate MBA program in Toronto, Canada, and several courses in SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) at the University of London towards a Master’s degree in Public Economic development.
